THE KAMEHAMEHA SCHOOLS AND THE COUNCIL FOR NATIVE HAWAIIAN ADVANCEMENT ARE PLEASED TO PRESENT
AS KĀNAKA ʻŌIWI, WE ARE A VIBRANT AND DIVERSE PEOPLE WHO HAVE CARVED OUR WAY IN THIS WORLD THROUGH GENERATIONS OF INNOVATION AND RESILIENCY.
Recognizing ʻŌiwi Leaders
Although we each hold a different set of skills, knowledge, and talents, we are all connected through a kuleana placed forth by our kūpuna, to mālama and move our people forward. From Haʻehaʻe to Lehua, the Council for Native Hawaiian Advancement is partnering with Kamehameha Schools to elevate and support the development of our emerging ʻōiwi leaders in our community through the Empowering ʻŌiwi Leadership Award (E OLA).
This unique recognition will be given to Native Hawaiians who exemplify leadership qualities and are engaged in their community. The recipient of this recognition will also be given a monetary award to help elevate their work.
“The greatest leadership quality I admire is lawelawe or servant leadership….”
