Aloha, my name is Ross Kaui. I'm born and raise on the island of Kauai. I grew up in the town of Kapahi with my 2 bothers and 2 sisters. I am the uncle to 10 nieces and nephews. The simple things in life is where I find my pleasure- fishing, hunting and spending time with my family.

Why is the work that you do important to you? The community?

My first job is working for Aloha Petroleum. I make sure the Island of Kauai has fuel-gasoline, diesel and jet fuel. Second, I work for Pacific Environmental Corporation as an emergency response clean-up contractor. I respond to oil spills, preventative booming, sub-surface oil recovery, hazardous materials response and tank cleaning, inspection and repair. And lastly, I help with my family cattle company. We provide fresh, grass fed, free range meat to family and friends.

Share with us the qualities of leadership you admire and how you express those in your life.

Selflessness- I'm always one call away, I'm always willing to help someone-family, friend or stranger without expecting something in return.

Consistency- I believe in showing up everyday and working hard for something important to you and the community.

Respect- I believe in treating everyone with respect.

Who has inspired you to do the work that you are doing?
