Share with us a little about yourself and what you do.

Born and raised on Maui, attended Kamehameha Schools (6 year boarder) and after graduation attended UH Mānoa, Chaminade and Argosy University. I have 2 older brothers and I currently live on Maui. Married with 4 children (all kaiapuni) with my oldest in his 1st year of college at UH Hilo.


Why is the work that you do important to you? The community?

That is about our community and the developing opportunities to thrive. To be able to uplift our people, families and communities in ways that they envision and want. That I can be a part of our ancestoral legacy of leaving more for the next generations and to find not only our voice but stand in our cultural knowledge, beliefs and values.

Share with us the qualities of leadership you admire and how you express those in your life.

That is never about me, but all of us collectively. Despite challenges, that as a leader you stand up for what is right even when you might stand alone.

Who has inspired you to do the work that you are doing?

There are many. I am constantly inspired and amazed the skill, grace, tenacity and resiliency that our people have not only here in Hawaii but around the world.

What is one word that describes something you are excited about for the lāhui?

voice. that we can use our leo to continue to bring about change in more spaces than ever before.

What is one word that describes a pressing issue that is facing our lāhui?

culture. how we must continue to protect, preserve and perpetuate the authencity of who we are as kanaka
