Share with us a little about yourself and what you do.

My name is Kanoe Schutte. I am a third generation cattleman. My family has been ranching in Hawaii for generations. I am currently pursing my Associates degree and will be attending school in Texas for Artificial Insemination / Palpation and Ultrasound.


Why is the work that you do important to you? The community?

The work that I do helps educate local ranchers and the community on different programs available for their animals. I help educate and keep the community informed of new protocols and influence herd health.

Share with us the qualities of leadership you admire and how you express those in your life.

Some of the qualities I have of leadership is helping everyone. Working with different people and forming new relations all throughout the islands. Meeting people who love the same things (cattle and ranching) as I do is a huge plus.

Who has inspired you to do the work that you are doing?

I would say my dad, Guy Schutte and grandfather, Kalani Schutte.

What is one word that describes something you are excited about for the lāhui?

I am excited on the expansion of all things.

What is one word that describes a pressing issue that is facing our lāhui?

An issue would be the lack of funds and knowledge in all aspects
